Limited Ego

My sister and I have two pretend self-help books, “Stop! Don’t be That Girl!” and “The Limited Ego.” What? Don’t you? In both of our imaginary books, we dole out untrained non-professional advice on relationships and wellness. On my way home from work, we’ll discuss chapters in our non-existent books.

But to be honest, both of us have learned a lot being on this planet for both relationships and wellness. We are heavy consumers of actual trained advice given in books, radio shows, podcasts, and our own one-on-one therapy sessions. And, actually, the advice we give our imaginary readers actually has some value to it. And if needed, although unsolicited, could be of benefit to people.

As a means of not allowing this unfettered advice to go to waste, Tulips & Poppies will now include two new sections – Don’t Be That and Limited Ego.

With that said,
“Welcome to Limited Ego”

Here we will be writing about what keeps us level headed. Motivation for following our dreams. Inspiration that brings light in the darkness. And observations regarding the ego and its place in your success.

Limited Ego is what we consider a healthy dose of ego. It's enough to keep you competitive and motivated to succeed, but not so strong it is unwilling to see fault. An ego that is receptive to criticism, but keeps you from quitting and whispers, “You are good enough.” An ego that is humble and allows for flexibility.
